How The Bethany Project Began

A visit with Dr. Jean Claude Noel

Director for Haiti, Partners with Haiti Board

 

 

The Bethany Project had its start over 40 years ago at the Port au Prince school Dr. Jean Claude Noel takes us to. Dr. Noel, then pastor of the Boulos Baptist Church, found neighborhood school children were so desperately malnourished they couldn't pay attention to their lessons. Assisted by American pastor, Dr. David Madeira, the Bethany feeding program was begun. Today a portion of funds donated by child sponsors still goes to provide a nutritious school lunch--often the only meal the child receives that day.
