You Can Sponsor a Haitian Schoolchild

A sponsor is a caring friend who is committed to meeting the needs of a Haitian child. You will be assigned a specific child/children as your own. We ask that you make an initial commitment to sponsoring your child through elementary school (6th grade).  

Knowing your child’s name/school and receiving a picture will provide you with a valuable link with your child. You can identify personally with, and pray specifically for your child. You can send a package to them. You may continue to sponsor your child up through secondary/high school; while official communication through Partners with Haiti/Bethany Project ceases upon the child's graduation you may continue to connect (at your own discretion) directly with a graduate by email, and/or transfer financial gifts by Western Union, or other means). 

Please note that Bethany tries to make the ministry as personal as possible between sponsor and child within the limits of a volunteer-managed program on the U.S. side; however, confidentiality and IRS regulations typically prevent personal communications or supplemental fund transfers between sponsors and children or their families.

It is our aim that you will receive a letter from your child and a school report card at least once a year. Every effort will be made to inform sponsors as soon as possible of changes in their child's educational status. 

Most important, your monthly donation will enable your child to receive a Christian education in a church related school. After becoming a sponsor, we encourage you to join a work team or vision trip and go see your child personally (if she/he resides within a reasonable distance of your itinerary). 

To become a sponsor print and fill out the application form, enclose a check for at least the first month's support of $25, and mail to Partners with Haiti--Bethany Project, 25 Old County Road Barrington, RI 02806. You will receive a picture and information about your child.
