Mid-Winter Greeting from Dr. Jean-Claude
Noel
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
2012
My praise goes to God for such faithful friends as
you. Thank you for
your care of my family and many hundreds of children in Haiti through
the Bethany project, AFCA, our sisters churches and more.
Since the earthquake Haitians living in USA have
started taking a
deeper look at their country. I believe it will be for the best. I
observe this phenomena in my own children. Lynda the youngest of our daughters makes trips to Haiti and distribute
toys to the children in some of our supported schools. She collected toys from Haitians and her co–workers here.
Raymond’s oldest daughter Becky who just graduated from the University of Wisconsin would like to teach school in
Haiti. Carol's husband, Pastor Dona, is vesting his time in a
Christian University in Northern Haiti.
The 2010 earthquake has caused a great setback to
our mission work. We have spent this two years playing catch up. Some of our church people have relocated. We still
have a tent city on our AFCA school property, and those in charge of the relocation program in Haiti have given us
no hope of a quick solution. What a mess? In the midst of the chaos, the Lord enabled us to keep on going. Several
of our people were sick with cholera. Floise, the head mistress of the AFCA school, was finally cured. She is now
back to her work. We seem to have lost many of my co-workers during the past two years, some from the earthquake
and several others died unexpectedly. I am still holding on. My work is not finished and my vision is not gone. A
long life is not a favor that I wish to claim. My salvation is sure (Psalm 91:16).
