Please join us on Saturday September 25, 2010 at Westgate Church for our annual banquet which kicks off at 4 p.m.
Come early, enjoy appetizers and fellowship with members of the US and Haitian Board of Directors. Plan to stay late as we will have an exciting time of worship together in Creole and English after our wonderful authentic Haitian dinner.
During the service video footage of the earthquake damage at some of our sites, building progress and future plans will be shown and described by a few guest speakers. An update on the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund will also be presented. Please come and enjoy a night of “Hearts for Haiti” our 2010 theme.
There is no cost to attend the banquet; we simply take a love offering to cover the meal.

Donations above and beyond the dinner will go directly to the Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund.

We will also have a table with Haitian crafts, vanilla and coffee for sale along with 2011 Haiti calendars, t-shirts, jewelry and gift baskets. 100% of money raised from the sale will purchase much needed medicine and antibiotics (in Haiti) for our medical clinics.

We look forward to seeing you there!

If you have any questions or would like to reserve a table of 8, please contact Rachel Pitot at Rachel@partnerswithhaiti.org

FEB. 8-15, 2010 – At the wish of the PWH board in our meeting on Feb. 6, Pastor Claude, Bob and John traveled to Haiti to see how our friends are doing and to understand their needs and those of our ministry. We met Rachel and her friend, Obie, at the Jovin’s place. They were there assisting at Hospital of Hope, doing nursing work, and Rachel was doing networking with several NGOs to get more foods to feed the people under our care.

We traveled through the DR, took a bus from Santo Domingo and arrived in Port-au-Prince the next day. We spent a full day driving around Port-au-Prince, taking in the devastation and struggle of the Haitian people as they were trying desperately to put their lives back in order. We visited, along with many of the city places, Bolosse, Nazon, AFCA, and CEEH.

The next day, we met with the Bethany Project staff, the AFCA staff and the APCH staff. We met with Pastors Martinez and Janty, as representatives of the APCH staff. We listened, (l, John tried to listen; Claude and Bob and Rachel participated) We discussed the needs of our friends, and talked about the needs of our facilities. The latter will require much attention. Our consensus was that we ought to approach these issues in two phases: The first phase is to concentrate on : FOOD and SHELTER. Simple, basic human needs. So many thousands of people are crowding in “camps” with most in inadequate shelters, with inconsistent food supply. The second phase will be the longest and most arduous. The rebuilding of homes and lives of our people. Miraculously, very few of our people suffered loss, but the ones who did are grieving and hurting. Pastor Claude lost a grandson, “nono”; Maryloude lost her home; Pastor Martinez lost 2 very good friends and co-workers. Pastor Renes Deciere lost a brother. The AFCA orphanage lost its director. Most everyone has lost several loved ones and friends, and the destruction of houses, stores, commercial buildings is pervasive and overwhelming to the senses and the heart. At Bethany, It was decided that it was important that all children living in the earthquake areas would be physically contacted during the month of march and a report be available to help our response to the findings and also to communicate with the Bethany donnors. We also visited L’Eglise Evangelique Baptiste Des Orangers at Jacmel where we met with Pastor Belizaire. His home was destroyed and the church was damaged. This church has a sister church relationship with Church in the Pine (CIP).We are very blessed to see that very few of the APCH buildings have suffered much damage, yet later evaluation has determined that there is significant work that needs to be done at the AFCA Village and the Nazon church and school before school can begin and church can resume.

Having determined this direction, we will report, as was done, to the PWH board. If there are any questions about this report, or further detail is needed, simply call one of us on the Assessment Team.

John Eklund, for Pastor Claude Noel and Bob St. Julien

The Partners With Haiti Board of Directors want to thank all of our donors for your faithful prayers and support during this most difficult time. We are working diligently to update everyone on what has been happening since the earthquake. As we receive news from Haiti we will share it with you.

This is what we know thus far:

•	AFCA Village was not damaged. The church, school, and all other buildings are okay. The village has become a refuge for some 2,000 Haitians in the community who have lost their homes. With the help of an American they were able to feed them on Tuesday with no violence.
•	Nazon Church also was not damaged. They have become a refuge for some 1,000 Haitians around that community.
•	CEEH (Council of Evangelical Churches in Haiti) has also become a refuge with some 1,000 people around the community there.
•	Bethesda Baptist Church (Pastor Martinez Jovin’s church) has also been a refuge for some 1,000 people in that community.

SISTER CHURCHES IN HAITI SUPPORTED BY CHURCHES IN THE U.S.A.
•	Eglise Evangelique Baptist Béreé, Delmas #33 – Pastor Dieuseul Estivene: His family is fine. The church at Delmas received minimal damage. All members were accounted for except for one. The pastor’s home was damaged. The school in Cite Soleil, ECS, was severely damaged.
•	Eglise Evangelique Bethesda, Delmas #33 – Pastor Nathan Chérélus. Pastor Nathan was in Miami. His wife and children are okay. They traveled to the Dominican Republic where Pastor Nathan met them. He then traveled into Haiti. His school, BH, and his church were damaged. •	Eglise Evangelique Baptiste Des Orangers, Jacmel – Pastor Joseph Belizaire: His family is fine. His home was destroyed. The church and school was damaged.
•	Eglise Baptist Du Village AFCA, Delmas #33 – Pastor Renes Deciere: His family is fine. The church was not damaged. It is the only church building still standing in the area.

BETHANY PROJECT SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM We are doing everything possible to locate almost 1,200 children in our program. As we receive information from Haiti we will post it on “Bethany Project Updates” Please check this on a regular basis. The children will be listed according to their school code and name.

MISSION TRIPS All mission trips to Haiti are on hold until we are given the “green light” to go in. Our mission is to go help, not to make recovery and rescue more difficult with civilians coming in. Getting water and food to needed people is very difficult. If you are interested in joining a team and have specific skills, please contact Nancy Turner – 843-757-7940 or by email: nturner@partnerswithhaiti.org

CASUALTIES There have been casualties among the APCH staff in Haiti, pastors, and loved ones in Haiti. This is the information that we have received thus far:
•	Raymond Eugene, the father of 20 girls at AFCA Home for Children
•	Emmanuel Noel, age 22 the grandson of Pastor Claude Noel is missing
•	Venel Deciere, the brother of Pastor Renes Deciere and director of the CPS School
•	Pastor Pierre Dely and his family: EEM School in Koten
